Welcome to my page here on Crowdfunding, where I am delighted to share with you my enchanting storybook, ‘Mirrors from the Soul,’ and its accompanying card deck. I draw inspiration from the beauty of nature and the wisdom of Mother Earth, and my wish is that my stories, photos, and beautiful cards inspire you as well on your life’s journey.

‘The storybook and the card deck just want to spread their wings and fly out into the world, so they can reach and touch as many people as possible, and bring healing where needed.’

In this hectic world with so many things to do, we often forget to take time for ourselves. I invite you to use my storybook and cards as an opportunity for well-deserved “you-time”. Let the stories inspire and invite you to reflect on your life, let them sink in, allow yourself to be touched, and be present with what arises for you. Let them reconnect you with your essence so you know who you are, what you want to do, and can take steps from there. Please embrace the encouragement found in each story and card.

‘Mirrors from the Soul’ is a captivating blend of 25 stories and photos. Each story and photo has a tale to tell, and I listened deeply to their whispers. The stories are about life, the choices you can make, love, and the encouragement to find your own way in life. Perhaps they’ll spark your own stories and connections. Immerse yourself in the magic of the words and visuals, be in awe of what you see and what you read, and embrace the possibilities.

The card deck, designed to complement the book, contains 25 enchanting cards. Allow yourself to be pleasantly surprised by their design and their ability to guide and inspire. Each card connects with a story from the book, but you can explore them in any order you choose. The storybook and card deck can be ordered together as well as separately. The storybook and the card deck just want to spread their wings and fly out into the world, so they can reach and touch as many people as possible, and bring healing where needed.

Marja embraced the magic and wonders of life after surviving Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Life and nature invite us, and often challenge us, to look at ourselves and reflect on where we are in our lives. To explore whether we like what we see, what we do, or whether we long for a change in our lives.

After taking many photos and writing numerous stories, Marja felt compelled to create a storybook and an accompanying card deck of 25 magical cards, both filled with wonder.

Marja’s love for photography, writing, and creating has always been a driving force in her life, but she never thought of combining these passions until now. Time and again she is in awe of the way a single click of her camera can capture the enchantment she sees in nature, whether in a flower, a tree, or the sea. It is from this magic that her stories were born. The stories are about her and about you, reflecting our shared human journey!

Through this creative process, Marja discovered her remarkable talent as an inspirational visual storyteller, and recognised her gift as something to be shared with others, like you.

‘Mirrors from the Soul’ comes straight from Marja’s essence, and she hopes that her inspirational stories, enchanting photos, and beautiful card deck will touch and inspire you to embrace the magic and wonders of life on your life’s journey, and to let them bring healing where needed.

Biografie

Surviving Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2001 marked a life-altering turning point for Marja. Her doctors had not expected her to survive, making the miracle of her recovery all the more profound. The experience of facing cancer forever changed her perspective on life.

Before her diagnosis, Marja was hesitant to take the leap into a new career. Upon receiving the news from her haematologist that she was cancer-free, she just wanted to go back to her life from before the diagnosis, because that was the life she knew, the life that felt safe. Yet, she also knew she couldn’t simply return to her old life. Instead, she found herself on the threshold of a new beginning, not knowing how to live anymore, but determined to embrace her second chance at life to the fullest.

Embarking on a journey of self-discovery, exploring her life, her dreams, and her possibilities, Marja pursued further studies and became a coach and therapist, working with people in mourning who are navigating loss or significant life changes.

A couple of years ago Marja discovered another gem in herself that wanted to be seen and heard: her innate talent for visual storytelling, using the lens of her camera and intuitive writing to capture the beauty of nature and the wisdom of Mother Earth.

Marja’s enchanting stories are all inspired by her deep connection with Mother Earth, as her muse, and its elements. Her walks in nature with her dog became a source of introspection, re-connecting with herself and the world around her by seeing, sensing, and deep listening time and again. She has a unique gift for capturing the essence and the magic of nature with a single click of her camera, leaving her in awe as she sees the results on her computer screen.

Marja’s journey has been marked by challenges and invitations to find her own way in life and to reflect on her unique path. Over time, she learned the value of pausing at life’s crossroads, embracing and feeling her emotions, living them step-by-step. By taking “Marja-time” to reconnect with her essence, she also discovered a profound love and passion for intuitive writing. Despite initial fears, she pursued her dream of being an inspirational visual storyteller, following the guidance of her heart and passion.

With captivating, heartfelt stories and photos, Marja hopes to inspire you on your own life’s journey, encouraging you to embrace the beauty and wisdom of nature. She knows that the storybook and the card deck are ready to spread their wings and fly out into the world, so they can reach and touch as many people as possible, and bring healing where needed.

The title for the ‘Mirrors from the Soul’ storybook!

I would like to share with you how the title for my storybook and card deck revealed itself to me. The first story I wrote for the storybook was Mirrors from the Soul. It was just there and I needed to have a photo with this story. Most of the time I see something in nature and the words start humming through me. That is when I know I have to take a photo of what I see. When I am in awe with what I see on my computer screen I know it is a keeper. I then place the photo as a watermark in my document and by doing this I feel so connected to the image and to the words that are still humming. That is where the magic is happening, through connection, and that is when the words are coming onto the paper.

With the ‘Mirrors from the Soul’ story things were different. I felt the words humming and I just needed to start writing and that is what I did. This asked for a very special image and I suddenly knew which photo to look for. The photo below was taken in the last century even before there were digital cameras. So I had to digitalise this photo and there I had some help from my husband Albert. When I saw the result after editing the digitalised photo I was stunned and truly in awe. The photo was picture perfect for my story. So, this is it, I had my photo.

I thought I had the picture perfect photo for my story!

Story after story was written, photo after photo, and I ended up with 25 awe-inspiring stories and 25 enchanting cards. I still didn’t know the title for my book and I played with a lot them, with finding it. Until a very dear friend picked up the card of the ‘Mirrors from the Soul’ and asked what about this title? That is when I knew. I felt it in my whole body, this had to be the title. All the stories are a mirror from our soul, just like each and every card is.

And then there was some news I didn’t want to be true. There were some photos that couldn’t be used because of the resolution. It was so technical that I needed to dive into this and what I learned is that all photos for a book needed a minimum resolution. I was upset because I couldn’t use the picture from ‘Mirrors from the Soul’ and I was sad as well. I tried to change the resolution but the effect was terrible. So I had to say goodbye to this photo. I felt the resistance in myself, because I wanted to hold on to this photo. It took me a while before I found another photo for this story, and the feeling of being in awe. And I can reassure you, in the end I did find a picture perfect photo for this story.

This is the photo that didn’t make it to the book.
